Sell Yourself and Your Brand

People who market themselves on social media need to make the connection between the person and the brand. Make sure there is not an imbalance. If you want people to know that you have the credibility, experience, knowledge, and vision for the company you founded, explain that, but don’t lose sight of what makes the brand stand out. Don’t just make yourself stand out. Don’t come off as pretentious. Conversely, don’t focus too much on the brand without showing people how you devised it and why. People like to hear personal stories, so don’t be shy about touting yourself. Keep it 50/50 as best you can.

Find Your Own Voice 

Find your own voice then be consistent in using it. Your DNA is different from every other entrepreneur’s, even those in your niche. Therefore, when crafting social media posts, avoid looking at what anyone else is doing. Speak from your heart and your message will resonate with those clients/customers who are perfectly suited for your products or services. When you listen to your own voice and then post authentically with passion, that passion will attract people in droves, because there’s only one you!

Create Batch Posts, Then Schedule in Advance

As a business of one, I don’t have time to post on social media every day. I have to be creative with my time and resources, and social media just doesn’t fit into my daily schedule. To overcome time poverty, I use scheduling software to create batches of social media posts in one sitting, then schedule them ahead of time. This helps me post every day without having to post every day, allowing me to stay in touch with my followers and clients. This gives me time to think about each post I create rather than rushing just to get something out. I can offer my readers more value and stay in touch with them without taking away time from my paid client work.

Time Block Your Social Media Tasks

As a solopreneur, it can be overwhelming to have to do marketing, advertising, sales, planning, and everything in between. Doing social media alone can be a daunting task, but it can be easier. I currently block 30-90 minutes for social media, to record, to edit, and to prepare for it to be released later on. This will allow for fresh ideas to formulate and to tell yourself the minimum amount of times you will commit to posting each day. I have a minimum of one, but I have posted two or three times, depending on how creative I’m feeling on that day.

Create Once, Repurpose and Repost Forever!

A key part of my social media strategy as a solopreneur is ensuring I get as much mileage out of every single content idea as possible. For example, I repost all of my TikTok videos onto YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, Twitter, and Pinterest for maximum reach. Then, I transcribe my TikTok videos and turn them into Instagram Carousel posts, Twitter threads, LinkedIn posts, and blog posts. I choose a version of every piece of content to highlight in my free marketing newsletter. And the cycle can repeat again by creating a brand new TikTok video with the green screen effect, and one of those posts in the background. And ’round and ’round it goes!

Create a Community

It is not enough to just post content. You must try to create a community. You can do this by answering questions in the comments, sharing their work, and commenting on it, or replying to their comments with constructive feedback. By replying to their comments, you show them that you care about their work and that you appreciate their engagement with you and your content.
